Subject : The Revenue Department receives Sang Ngern award in the category of the Outstanding Public Relation Campaign for the year 2007.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. Sanit Rangnoi, Director-General of the Revenue Department was awarded with the 22nd honourary reward in the category of the Outstanding Public Relation Campaign from PR Campaign Tax Form Filing via Internet for the year 2007 organised by the Public Relation Society of Thailand . The award as awarded by Khunying Tipavadee Meksawan, Minister of the Prime Ministers Office on the 30th January 2007.
The annual honourary Sang Ngern award is considered to be the highest achievement to be awarded by the Public Relation Society of Thailand to any individual or organization with outstanding performance related to public relation.
Mr. Satit Rungkasiri, Deputy Director General of the Revenue Department revealed that, The Revenue Departments electronic filing project was selected as a result of our well planned strategy which was successfully implemented throughout the period. The project encourages and attracts taxpayers to change their ideas and perspectives, by convincing them to use electronic filing. It can be concluded that the Revenue Departments public relation strategy has been very successful as the system can easily be understood and can actually be implemented. For example, tax refund for electronic filing will take no longer than 15 days. As a result, electronic filers have increased from 200,000 filers in 2002 to 6.8 million filers in 2006.
The Public Relation project was unanimously agreed to be a project that helped facilitate taxpayers to choose a new approach towards tax filing that tremendously reduce cost and time. The project also helps create a new image to the Revenue Department and this is why the Revenue Department deserves this award.
