The Revenue Department's tax collection for all tax types in March 2004 was 55.4 billion baht; it is 8.4 billion baht (or 18.02%) above the target and 8.3 billion baht (or 17.83%) higher than March 2003's collection.
The tax collection for all tax types for the first six-months (October 2003-March 2004) was 301.6 billion baht; it is 58.2 billion baht (or 23.94%) above the target and 51.2 billion baht (or 20.45%) higher than last year's collection for the same period.
Taxes collected in the first six-month had increased for all tax types, especially VAT, Corporate Income Tax, and Personal Income Tax. This is an indication of growth in consumption and investment in the economy.
Mr. Satit Rungkasiri, Spokesperson for the Revenue Department, said "an increase in the amount of tax collected is the result of not only the growth of the economy but also the implementation of Supervisory Policy which pursues business outside tax base. The Supervisory Policy has helped taxpayers better understand and make proper tax payments. In addition it also has introduced the implementation of new technology in providing services and tax collection management."
Mr. Satit further thanked taxpayers for their kind cooperation in always paying taxes. |
