Subject : Asian Development Bank Institution: Tax Administration Seminar IV
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 4th ADBI Tax Administration Seminar is being held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 4 - 6 July 2007. The seminar is jointly organized by the ADB Institute, National Tax Agency of Japan and the Revenue Department of Thailand. The theme for this year is IT use in tax administration which covers the following topics; - Taxpayer Services with IT use - Taxpayer Management with IT use - Balance between enhancing usability and managing security of IT use - Perspective of the impacts of IT use on tax administration The Tax Administration Seminar is initiated by Asian Development Bank Institution with total number of 25 delegates from 10 tax administrations namely Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attending the seminar. The purpose of the seminar is to share knowledge, ideas, and experience concerning tax administration in order to improve respective participants administration. At the opening ceremony of the Seminar, Mr. Sanit Rangnoi, the Director-General of the Revenue Department, was invited to deliver an opening speech. He also added that Thailand will learn from others experience and advance in using IT in tax administration through seminar participation. Such knowledge will be incorporated into our own development which will lead to higher level of efficiency and bring benefits to the nation.
