Subject : Brainstorming of RDs executives nationwide in order to improve tax collection efficiency of the last six months of fiscal year 2009

The Revenue Department held a seminar for heads of tax offices from every unit to review its performance and improve tax administration efficiency of the last six months of fiscal year 2009.
Mr. Vinai Vittavasgarnvej, Director-General of the Revenue Department, announced after his opening of The Seminar of Directors of Regional Revenue Offices and Area Revenue Offices nationwide in mid-fiscal year 2009 during 28-30 April 2009 at Ake-pailin River Kwai Hotel, Kanchanaburi Province, that The purpose of the seminar is to follow-up tax administration of the first six months of fiscal year 2009 and to review problems and obstacles in order to adjust strategy for tax administration of the last six months of fiscal year 2009 (April September 2009). The seminar also discusses topics of analysis and evaluation of the business and economy, future trends as a result of changing situations in politics and economy, as well as introducing new knowledge and concepts to be applied to the Revenue Department work.
The Director-General announced further that The tax collection of the first six months of fiscal year 2009 is below the forecast which mainly caused by the declining VAT collection on import as a result of the world economy and slow domestic consumption. Nevertheless we still believe that our hard work and dedication shall result in tax collection of the remaining six months be according to taxpayers performance.
