During the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2009 Meeting, held in Singapore between 13-26 February 2009, the Revenue Department was selected as a case study for their success in bringing IT to help restructuring laws and operation guidelines in line with the objective of APEC in order to reduce costs related to international trade and investment, reduce unemployment, and increase member countries productivities.
Mr. Satit Rungkasiri, Principal Advisor on Strategic Tax Administration (Finance and Banking), the representative of the Revenue Department in this meeting, said that Thailand and Thai people were proud of this success and it was an honour to be selected as a case study in this meeting and the Revenue Department would continue developing our administration and services.
Currently, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation or APEC has 21 members which are Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, Thailand, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea, Mexico, Chili, Peru, Vietnam, and Russia.
