Subject : The Revenue Department organizes activities to instill good ethics and responsibility for children to become good taxpayers.

On 26 June 2009, Mr. Vinai Vittavasgarnvej, Director-General of the Revenue Department marked the opening of RD Youth Club Project at the Revenue Department’s meeting room.
The project has a theme of ‘Good Knowledgeable Children’ and aims to instill young children with tax knowledge as well as create values and better image for payment of taxes. The project also encourages the young generation to be responsible citizens in the society.
Mr. Vinai Vittavasgarnvej announced that, “‘RD Youth Club’ was introduced under the slogan of “All Thai children should be responsible on their part in paying taxes in the future”. The Revenue Department targets primary school students nationwide and will start off the programme by organizing the activity at Saint Francis Xavier Convent School, which is under the administration of Office of the Private Education Commission support, Sainampung School, a school under the administration of the Office of Basic Education Commission and Rama 9 Kanjanabhisek School, under the administration of Bangkok Metropolitan Council. RD Youth Club activities include ‘Good Knowledgable Children walk rally’. This event consists of basic tax knowledge and 5 different activities related to taxes, which help instill the duty of being good responsible citizens along with activities to make it enjoyable to learn. In addition, ‘Good Knowledgable Children on stage’ event aims to instill good practice by involving students with games/activities and interact them with movie stars who are role models for the children in paying taxes.”
Mr. Vinai mentioned that, “The teaching method through play classes is a very good and effective method to teach the youth as they remember and memorise the image they see and understand better than other channels of teaching.”
He summed up, “This event not only provides tax knowledge but also helps instill good ethics of how to be responsible citizens. As they grow up and earn income, they should contribute to the society by paying taxes.
